VEG is our go to location for any pet emergencies. One of our dogs is prone to accidents and we’ve been here several times in the past six months for treatment. The team here is wonderful. We’ve never felt pressure to pursue certain treatments and they’re always on top of communication, providing unbiased information to help you make the best decision for your pet’s health. It’s costly here but worth it considering the peace of mind your pet is in the absolute best care during an emergency.

I recently spent several days with one of my dogs at the Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) in Seattle, and I can't say enough about how impressed I was with the care we received. It was an incredibly busy weekend (the Fourth of July), with a constant stream of dogs and cats needing emergency care. Despite that, every member of the staff remained calm, compassionate, and professional. They were not only kind and supportive to me, but also to every pet owner in the waiting area. What stood out most was the genuine love and respect they showed for the animals. Even though many of the pets were frightened, in pain, or very sick, the doctors and technicians took the time to comfort them and make them feel safe. They also took the time to explain my dog's condition, walk me through the treatment options, answer my questions, and make sure I felt informed throughout the process. A few days after we returned home, they texted to check on my dog's recovery. Every member of the team I encountered was wonderful, but I especially want to recognize Dr. Samantha Fairbanks and veterinary technician Saige Luxton. They were exceptional—knowledgeable, compassionate, and reassuring—and they helped both my dog and me get through a very stressful experience. I hope no one ever needs an emergency veterinarian, but if you do, I would wholeheartedly recommend VEG Seattle. Knowing that your beloved pet is in the hands of people who are not only highly skilled but who genuinely care makes all the difference.

can’t say enough how amazing VEG is! Our cat has had 2 abdominal surgeries with them and each experience has been top notch. All of the providers are so caring and treat your pet like it is their own. The clinic is clean, high tech and accommodating. They always make sure you feel welcomed and comfortable while you are there.

Absolutely the best care you can get for your pets. Every single staff member I talked to was extremely kind, compassionate, and highly competent. They take the time to answer all your questions, they work with you to find the cheapest options for treatment, and they treat your pets as their own. It sometimes feels like other vets are eager to sell you a test or procedure after only a very brief examination, but at VEG, they try to understand your goals and budget for treatment are and only recommend things which align with that. Honestly, the only downside is they focus on emergencies, otherwise I'd be bringing my cats here for regular checkups too as the quality of personalized care here is better than any other vet I've been to in Seattle. Dr. Willis, Dr. Runte and the rest of the staff are at the top of their game. I can't speak more highly of the team and the care my cat and I received both times we've had an emergency.

We brought our beloved cat, Miso, to VEG after she was transferred from another veterinary clinic for severe respiratory distress. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the entire team was ready for her. They immediately began treatment, performed diagnostics, and moved with a level of urgency and coordination that gave us confidence during one of the most terrifying nights of our lives. Sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, we lost Miso that night due to severe heart failure. While our hearts are broken, we are deeply grateful to Dr. Mirna Topic and every staff member who cared for Miso and supported us through an unimaginable situation. One thing that stood out was Dr. Topic’s extraordinary compassion and communication. When we were suddenly faced with life-and-death decisions, we were overwhelmed, scared, and struggling to understand a very complex medical situation. Despite how busy she was, Dr. Topic took the time to patiently explain Miso’s condition, the available treatment options, and the pros and cons of each path forward. She used simple, understandable language and made sure we felt informed rather than pressured. That kindness and patience meant more to us than we can adequately express. Every staff member we interacted with was incredibly gentle, compassionate, and thoughtful. It never felt like they were simply treating a patient. They were caring for Miso as an individual and supporting us as a family. I also want to highlight something unique about VEG’s design and philosophy of care. The open-floor treatment area allows you to see exactly what is happening with your pet. You can stay nearby, witness the care they are receiving, and be present during some of their most difficult moments. As heartbreaking as our experience was, there was something deeply comforting about knowing that nothing was happening behind closed doors. We could see how Miso was being treated, what procedures were being performed, and how much compassion the team

The staff at VEG are phenomenal. They are good at what they do and it shows. I was anxious about my 8 year old cat’s bladder, and they got him in immediately to rule out all the spooky issues. I arrived at 10:45 PM and was home by 11:30 PM with peace of mind. Given the previous emergency vets I’ve been to, I expected the process to take hours, but not here. Amazing care team. Thank you VEG. 💕

Highly recommend this VEG! They took great care of my kitty Simba, and great care for me as well. Simba was hospitalized for 2 days with urethra obstruction, and I was able to sit with him and speak with doctors immediately when I had questions. This vet is amazing and their care for people and animals is phenomenal.

I can’t even begin to explain my gratitude and thanks to Dr. Pfeiffer, Dr. Runte and the entire staff at VEG. On Wednesday my sweet dachshund Murphy began to show signs of pain and difficulty walking. Dr. Pfeiffer assessed him and diagnosed him with likely IVDD. She explained everything and gave me clear return precautions and discharge instructions. On Thursday night Murphs symptoms progressed and I called VEG and they told me to bring him back in. Dr. Runte quickly assessed Murphy and explained everything that was happening. Dr. Runte called Animal Medical Center of Seattle and got me an emergency appointment with the neurologist on Friday morning and Murphy then had emergency surgery that night. This was a terrifying experience and Murphy has a long road to recovery ahead but I am so grateful for the doctors and staff at VEG who took such good care of my boy and supported me while I was there. Highly recommend VEG.

My poor guy, Mr. Kitty started having very severe epileptic seizures on Friday evening, and I rushed him over to VEG on recommendation from a friend. I could not possibly be happier with my and Mr. Kitty's experience. Dr. Park and Dr. Fairbanks were excellent, and every single veterinary assistant and DMV that I spoke with were extremely knowledgeable and efficient, warm, and put me at ease. This company has figured out a truly better way to do veterinary care for both animals and their people, and they will soon put every other emergency vet in the country out of business. Mr. Kitty is well on his way to a full recovery, and it's just a shame that the best interaction I've had with a business in a long time is one whose services I hope to never have to use again. THANK YOU VEG-INTERBAY STAFF <3

Highly recommend bringing your loved pets here. The care and service towards the pets and their humans was above and beyond. Transparency is a value here as there is no bringing your pet “to the back” - every station is out in the open so you can be with your pet through every procedure and test. The staff has blankets and drinks for the humans to ensure we are also comfortable while waiting for our pets to heal. The demeanor and care from the staff was truly something I’ve never experienced at a vet before - I felt so taken care of and believed my dog was in the best hands possible. I walked in with my dog who had lethargy, loss of appetite, and diarrhea, and there was no wait, and urgency to solve the issue. What we though was an irritated GI tract was actually a flipped stomach, to which the entire team responded to rapidly and brought him into surgery. I was allowed to stay overnight with my dog while he was healing which helped the both of us with our anxiety. I have never witnessed this concept at a veterinary clinic before and I wish i could give 10 stars
